A primitive psychic attack is not much more than hurling negative psychic energy at someone.
In the short term, the best the psychic attack can offer the attacker is an element of surprise and a temporary disbalance. The attacker weakens more, because the negative psychic energy festers within.
In the long term, a psychic attack favors the victim/defender. The attack highlights the weak points of one's inner balance, and by fixing them the person grows stronger.
The psychic often perceives the movement of various energies as a psychic attack, even if there is no ill intent involved. The proper response is the same: let it through.
In essence, making a psychic attack is like banging your head in the wall and hoping it is someone else who gets hurt. Making a psychic attack is meaningless - a master psychic changes rather than attacks.
