Psychic talent is essentially the unconscious use of psychic skill. Psychic ability that is present through talent has drawbacks: limited accuracy, overspecialization, lack of flexibility. There are also potential dangers, because psychic ability is a tool to be used with care.
Psychic ability that is present through conscious skill is the mark of a true, aware psychic. Talents are stepping stones - they have to be converted into skills.
There are no shortcuts to developing the skill of psychic ability: self-discipline and self-reflection are basic requirements.
